Dear Michele,
I don’t like you. It’s not simply because you and I most likely fundamentally disagree on every political issue on the planet; I have a lot of respect and even admiration for those who I don’t see eye to eye with, and I even have a degree of respect for you. You seem very well-educated, ambitious, and hardworking.
However, my praise for you ends where your hypocrisy begins: you stated very clearly on Sean Hannity’s radio show that you want Democrats to know that the government is to have no control over your body. You aren’t having any of that.
Yet when it comes to women seeking abortions, you do and say all that is within your power to stop them. You’ve even gone as far as advocating that fertilized eggs should have individual rights in an attempt to undermine women.
Well, guess what? You can’t demand that the government relinquish control over your body while you impose control over somebody else’s. It reeks of totalitarianism; it isn’t fair and it isn’t American…but I’m not going to accuse you of being un-American, because that’s a cheap tactic that politicians sometimes use to debase their opponents, one that you are very familiar with. I know you’re not un-American just as well as you know that Barack Obama isn’t un-American. We’re all Americans here. But really, do you intend to rope off your uterus and declare it outside of your own jurisdiction? I think not.
Maybe we do have a few things in common; we’re both Americans, and we both do not want the government to control our bodies. However, I don’t want you controlling my body either.
